Sandgate Squash Fixtures

Sandgate Squash Centre has teams in TUESDAY and THURSDAY night Northside Squash League fixtures with grades listed from C2 right through to Premier. To register an interest in joining a team or forming your own team, contact the centre and we can provide further details. All fixtures players receive a free Sandgate Squash playing shirt.

Nighttime - Northside Squash League Winter 2010 season has commenced and goes through until Grand Finals in September 2010. Sandgate has nighttime teams in the following grades.

Tuesday: A3, B1 & C2

Thursday: Premier, A1, A3, A4, B2, C1 & C2

The competition is adminsitered by Q Squash on behalf of Northside Squash Centre Operators.

Monday: In-House competition. Open to low A grade & B grade (Division 1) and C grade & beginners (Division 2). Juniors welcome! Cost $10 which includes supper.

Sandgate Squash Centre has for the last 3 years has supported players from the Australian Institute of Sport playing Fixtures.

Jake Alexander (a 2009 scholarship holder) will play Thursday night Premier grade. Also in the team are:

Craig Rowland former World No. 7, AIS Scholarship holder & Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist.

Rachel Smith former AIS Scholarship holder.

Zac Alexander current World No. 78 & AIS Scholarship holder when available. Zac is on the PSA World Tour and spends a lot of time in North America.

1997 - Australian Men's World Championship Team with Rodney Eyles, Anthony Hill and Brett Martin

 

1998 – member Commonwealth Games team  Gold medallist Mixed Doubles with Michelle Martin

 

As a player, he reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 7 in 1996. He won a Gold Medal in the mixed doubles at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, partnering Michelle Martin. Craig was also runner-up in the men's doubles at the inaugural World Doubles squash Championships in 1997, partnering Dan Jenson.
